Freight forwarding runs the world's trade — and runs it manually.
We're building the AI layer the industry deserves, at a price the industry can actually adopt. Indian engineering. Global ambition. Bootstrapped. 12+ months live in production.
What we saw inside the industry.
Saurabh spent 20 years in industry — sales, operations, digital transformation. Worked with freight forwarders as customers, partners, and stakeholders across those years.
Chinmay started building software at twelve. By eighteen, he had won the Global Student Entrepreneurship Awards and shipped systems that handled hundreds of transactions a day.
In 2024–2025, we sat down with mid-market freight forwarders in India and the GCC and asked one question: “Show us how a quote actually gets done.”
The answer was always the same shape. Five tabs open. WhatsApp on phone. Excel rate card. Email thread. Tally on the other monitor. The senior pricing person mentally weighing margin, customer history, partner reliability — in her head, every quote.
The work was being done by humans doing what software should be doing. Not because the team was unskilled — because the software didn't exist.
Communication is the business.
Freight forwarding looks like cargo movement. It runs on customer communication. Quote · negotiate · confirm · book · track · update · invoice · collect. Every step is a message.
The freight forwarder who responds in 15 minutes wins the deal the one who responds in two hours loses. The forwarder who proactively updates a customer on a customs hold keeps the relationship; the one who lets the customer ask first damages it. The forwarder who chases an unpaid invoice politely on WhatsApp collects; the one who sends a stiff legal letter loses the next quote.
If communication is the business, then agentic AI built around communication is the business's natural augmentation. Not a chatbot answering questions. Not a dashboard. A coordinated team of agents preparing every reply, every quote, every follow-up, every status update — and handing each one to a human for approval before it goes out.
That's FreighAI. Six Trained Agents. One coordinated team. Live in production for 12+ months at our reference customer in Ajman.
Built where the customers actually are.
The freight forwarding software market is dominated by US and EU vendors — CargoWise, Magaya, Freightos. They're built for the buying power of their home markets. Mid-market Indian and GCC forwarders adopt them grudgingly, use 30% of them, and resent the price.
India and the GCC together have 50,000+ mid-market freight forwarders. Multi-language (English · Arabic · Hindi · Mandarin). Local compliance (GST · VAT · ZATCA). Currency complexity (INR · AED · SAR · USD). Vendor relationships that go back decades. A different business reality from US or EU.
We're Indian. We engineer in Pune. Our reference customer is in Ajman. Our pricing is calibrated to the region we serve, sustainably. We don't apologise for being affordable — that's the point.
The constraint that makes us better.
We're not VC-funded. Not because we couldn't be — because we believe being bootstrapped is the right structural choice for this stage of the company.
We make money from customers, not from investors. That changes the unit-economics math at every level: a one-time pilot fee that doesn't convert to a recurring band is a loss, not a customer-acquisition cost we'll be subsidised through. We have to make our product worth paying for. Continuously.
The decision speed is unmatched. We don't have board meetings. We don't have competing investor agendas. The two of us sit down at the kitchen table and decide. Then we ship.
Eventually we'll take outside capital — but only when it's leverage, not lifeline.Right now, bootstrapped works because the unit economics work. We're cash-flow positive. We have one paying export customer. We're building toward 7–10 customers by year-end at our published bands.
Four principles. Lived, not posted.
These are the principles we use to decide architecture, copy, pricing, and customer conversation. We share them so you can call us out when we drift.
Authoritative, not arrogant
We know the freight forwarding business. We don't pretend to know more. We share what we've learned; we listen to what you know that we don't.
Concrete, not abstract
No 'AI for logistics' fog. Real screens. Real numbers. Real customer names. Real money saved, real win-rate improvements, real margin caught.
Consultative, not salesy
Every customer conversation starts with 'which one process hurts you most?' — not a pitch deck. Pilot scopes are written together, not handed down.
Human-first, not tech-first
Every agent has a human gate. Your team stays in charge of every customer relationship. The dial is always yours. The work is collaborative — agent + human — not autonomous.
The anti-features.
A startup is defined as much by what it refuses to build as by what it does. Here's what we won't.
A chatbot that pretends to be a salesperson · a recommendation engine without provenance · a black-box pricing optimiser · a customer-facing portal that replaces your team.
Buy your data and sell it back · charge implementation fees · lock you into multi-year contracts before the pilot · pretend we're VC-funded when we're bootstrapped.
Chinmay · Saurabh · a small bench of specialists.
Two founders. A father–son team. AggAiLabs Software Solutions Pvt Ltd · HQ Pune · DPIIT-recognised · 100% export revenue · bootstrapped.
